Our testing is CAP (College of American Pathologists) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) certified.
These two certifications both exist to ensure accuracy of clinical testing results. Our testing processes adhere to strictly enforced quality management standards.

The hundreds of conditions we test for are aligned with the expert community’s consensus for impactful, ethical genetic testing. Each genetic predisposition tested for is both actionable and relevant to personal health. GeneSprout does not test for genetic conditions that cannot be influenced by medication, surveillance, or other lifestyle factors.

Our turnaround period is 4-6 weeks, and we are working to decrease this.

All patient information and genetic data are stored with appropriate security measures.

A federal law — the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) — prohibits employers and health insurance providers from making important decisions based on genetic information.

At present time, insurance does not cover GeneSprout testing.

If a child has a finding of increased risk for a condition, a genetic counselor will contact the family to schedule a telemedicine visit. Genetic counselors will provide suggested next steps including who else needs to be tested.
