Blanca brings bioinformatics and AI expertise to GeneSprout. Blanca and Ann have worked together since 2005. In 2009, Blanca and Ann published their first AI-based genetics paper. They co-led an international consensus workshop panel on precision medicine in 2017. Blanca received her undergraduate degree in physics from UCSD and her PhD in medical physics and bioinformatics from the Division of Health Sciences and Technology at MIT. She completed a biomedical informatics research fellowship at the Boston Children’s Hospital Informatics Program and is currently an Associate Professor of Informatics in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Blanca is the mother to two children.
